Witchfire Prepares for Early Access

The Astronauts studio has shared its plans for its upcoming project, Witchfire. This shooter will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for a year following its early access release, set for September 20th.

Interestingly, the game will feature two expansive maps, each comparable in size to the entire world of the studio's renowned game - The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.

Adrian Chmielewski, Witchfire's game director, clarified that the early access phase for the game would last approximately one year. However, the studio is not planning to extend this period indefinitely. He also mentioned that while players can pause the game, it won't be possible to return to a recently initiated run.

Regarding the cooperative mode, Chmielewski noted that although considering such an option isn't off the table, it's unlikely. The main emphasis is on solo gameplay, and the team doesn't want to jeopardize the game's atmosphere by introducing cooperative elements.

After the early access release, The Astronauts team plans to actively work on enhancing and optimizing Witchfire, rolling out updates until they are completely satisfied with the outcome.
