ASUS Unveils New GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GPUs with Built-in M.2 SSD Slot for Enhanced Storage Solutions

ASUS has introduced an innovative solution to utilize unused PCIe lanes in its latest GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards by integrating a built-in M.2 SSD slot. This feature addresses the storage concerns for mainstream gamers, especially those who might find the available M.2 slots on their PCs inadequate. The new ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD graphics card comes in two revisions of 16 GB and 8 GB, offering a compact yet powerful gaming experience combined with high-performance storage capabilities.

The integrated M.2 slot, positioned on the backside of the graphics card, supports PCIe 5.0 speeds, allowing for swift data access and transfers on high-performance NVMe storage devices up to 80 mm in length. A notable feature is the innovative Q-Latch, which facilitates easy installation or removal of an M.2 SSD without the need for specific tools. The design employs a simple locking mechanism, eliminating the need for traditional screws, thus providing a tidy solution for gamers looking to expand their storage without much hassle.

Moreover, the M.2 slot's placement beneath a backplate cover, which also acts as a heatsink, ensures efficient heat dissipation from the SSD to the card’s own heatsink through a thermal pad. ASUS recommends using the "Performance" BIOS profile when an M.2 SSD is installed on the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Dual GPUs, as it makes the fans run at a higher RPM, delivering better cooling compared to the "Quiet" profile. This innovation not only enhances storage options but also embodies a well-thought-out design ensuring effective cooling and ease of access, thus catering to the evolving needs of the gaming community.
