Cease of Production for Previous Steam Deck Models Amidst New OLED Launch

Valve has announced the discontinuation of the 64 GB and 512 GB Steam Deck models, revealing price reductions for the remaining LCD versions to $349 and $449. This move coincides with the launch of a new iteration of the popular gaming device — the Steam Deck OLED. As stated on the official website, the new device will be available in two memory configurations: 512 GB and 1 TB NVMe SSD, complete with exclusive virtual keyboard themes and boot-up screens. The models are priced at $549 and $649, respectively.

Additionally, Valve will release a special edition of the Steam Deck featuring a semi-transparent casing, exclusively available to the US and Canadian markets at a price of $649. The sale starts on November 16th.

Key specifications of the new Steam Deck include a 7.4-inch HDR OLED screen with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, a 6 nm process technology, Wi-Fi 6E support, and an extended battery life ranging from 3 to 12 hours of gameplay depending on the content loaded. The battery capacity is 50 Wh, and it comes with a 45 W charger.
