According to the analytical publication Ludostrie, Sony continues its stronghold in the European console market, increasingly distancing itself from its main rival, Microsoft. It's notable that Xbox's market share in France is dwindling, even with the anticipated launch of Starfield.

Interestingly, September 2023 forecasts a further decline in Xbox Series X|S sales, even more pronounced than the same month the previous year.

The report also emphasizes that this year in France, the sales ratio between PlayStation and Xbox could tilt a staggering 90% to 10% in favor of Sony.

However, this study focuses exclusively on the rivalry between Sony and Microsoft, sidelining the widely popular Nintendo Switch console.
