The gaming world has recently been hit with optimization issues related to the new game "Unholy". Users are reporting serious issues related to video memory management, which become especially noticeable during level loads.

Instead of effectively using available video memory, the game loads significantly more data into it than is actually necessary. As a result, video memory can be overloaded, leading to decreased performance.

On high-performance computers equipped with the RTX 4090 graphics accelerator, video memory usage jumps to 22 gigabytes during initial level load, clearly exceeding the usual requirements for most games. After the level loads, the video memory usage decreases and stabilizes at about 5 gigabytes.

However, if there is a lack of video memory, for example, on video cards with 8 gigabytes, the game switches to using RAM, which also takes additional time. This process repeats with the loading of each new location, creating significant inconveniences for players.

In addition, the game is poorly optimized for NVIDIA video cards when running in 4K. Comparing the power consumption of video cards in different modes: 2K and 4K, significant differences are identified.

The developers of "Unholy" face the task of addressing optimization issues and video memory management to enhance the gaming experience of their users.
