Intel Unveils Arrow Lake-S CPUs with 50% Larger Cache; Planned Release Late 2024

Intel's next generation of desktop CPUs, known as Arrow Lake-S, is making waves with a larger cache design. Scheduled for release in late 2024, this lineup is planned to be compatible with the new LGA 1851 socketed motherboards in the 800-series family.

The key feature of the Arrow Lake-S series is a 50% increase in L2 cache per P-Core. Each P-Core will carry 3 MB of L2 cache, a significant upgrade from the previous generation's 2 MB. This increase is projected to offer up to 21% performance gain over Raptor Lake CPUs and twice the iGPU performance.

Leaked benchmarks reveal promising figures, and there are also rumors about Intel switching to the TSMC 3nm process. The lineup includes 8+16 core configurations and might even introduce the "Core Ultra" series branding.

Intel has an Innovation event planned for 19th September, and more details are expected to be revealed.
