Kingston Technology recognized as the largest independent supplier of RAM modules for the twentieth time

The American company Kingston Technology Company, the world's largest developer and manufacturer of memory and storage devices, took 1st place among independent suppliers of RAM modules based on the results of 2022.

According to a new supplier ranking prepared by the analytical company TrendForce based on revenue data, Kingston Technology's sales volume amounted to $13.5 billion, equivalent to a market share of 78.12%.

As noted by TrendForce analysts, the Fountain Valley-based company has maintained its leadership in the ranking for the twentieth consecutive year. Last year's performance of Kingston Technology looks particularly impressive — the share of the second-ranked supplier was only 3.78%.

Based on analysts' conclusions, global sales of RAM modules decreased by 4.6% in 2022 compared to the previous period. At the same time, the top five manufacturers accounted for 90% of revenue. Despite the decline in consumer demand for electronic products caused by high inflation, the high popularity of the Kingston brand and an extensive supply chain allowed Kingston Technology to not only mitigate the impact of the negative trend but also strengthen its position relative to competitors.

According to Christy Ernst, DRAM manager at Kingston Technology: "The TrendForce report reflects the company's continuous development, its ability to adapt to a changing market, and its importance to the industry. At the same time, Kingston aims to maintain a high pace of innovation and offer consumers new products that fully meet their needs."

In particular, in 2022, the award-winning Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 and Renegade DDR5 memory modules were updated. In addition to devices in the classic black color, Kingston introduced new models with white heatsinks. This approach gave users the opportunity to choose a color and style that best match their individual preferences and best fit the modern design of gaming and professional PCs: both traditionally black and fully white systems, which are becoming increasingly popular.
