Manufacturers Ramp Up RTX 4090 Shipments to China Ahead of Ban

In light of the upcoming prohibition on the sale of GeForce RTX 4090 graphics processors in China post November 17, video card manufacturers have intensified the shipments of this model to the Chinese market. According to information from MyDrivers, several brands have already confirmed that they aim to saturate the market with RTX 4090 as much as possible before the ban comes into effect.

Interestingly, a special version of RTX 4090 with restricted performance is anticipated, which is presumed to help circumvent the new US sanctions concerning graphics processors' performance (4800 TOPS for AI). In this context, Nvidia may make alterations at the BIOS level to comply with sanction requirements, akin to what was done during the mining boom. This move demonstrates the companies' aspiration to maintain their presence in the Chinese market, despite geopolitical trends and regulatory constraints.
