NVIDIA Unveils RTX 5880 Ada: A Professional Graphics Card for Challenging Times

NVIDIA has introduced the RTX 5880 Ada, a professional graphics card that serves as a scaled-down version of the previously released RTX 6000 Ada. This move comes in response to new U.S. sanctions restricting the supply of the original model to certain countries, including China. Adhering to updated export policies, the new graphics card features a diminished graphics processor, emphasizing its focus on the professional market.

The specifications of the RTX 5880 Ada include 14,080 CUDA cores, 4,400 tensor cores, and 48 GB of GDDR6 memory. Despite reduced performance compared to the RTX 6000, the new model maintains high technical specifications. The graphics card is also equipped with active cooling, three encoding-decoding engines with AV1 support, and four DisplayPort 1.4a outputs.

Official pricing information is not yet available, but the RTX 5880 Ada is expected to be priced around $6,800.
