PS5 Pro 3 Times Faster Than Xbox Series X: Specs Confirmed

Tom Henderson has confirmed that the leaked specifications for the PlayStation 5 Pro are real, and the console is expected to launch in the holiday season of 2024. According to leaked information from the YouTube channel Moore's Law is Dead, the PS5 Pro will feature significant improvements over the current model.

Codename "Trinity," the PS5 Pro is slated to offer enhanced and stable 4K frame rates, along with 8K support. Its specifications include 30 Work Group Processor (WGP) blocks and memory with a bandwidth of 18,000 MT/s, rendering 45% faster than the standard PS5, and 2-3 times, sometimes even 4 times, faster ray tracing performance.

Compared to the Xbox Series X, which has a power of 12 TFLOPS and supports 4K, the PS5 Pro with its 33.5 TFLOPS of power and capability to render up to 8K shows significant superiority. While the Xbox Series X also supports ray tracing, the PS5 Pro promises much more powerful performance in this aspect.

Furthermore, the PS5 Pro will include the PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) technology for scaling and smoothing, as well as a specialized machine learning architecture with an AI accelerator supporting up to 300 TOPS of 8-bit computations and 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating-point computations.
