PS5 Pro Expected to Boost Rendering Performance by 45% and Ray Tracing by 2-3 Times

Sony is reportedly delaying the announcement of the upgraded PS5, likely until the latter half of the year, while development teams are already working on projects for the new hardware. The PS5 Pro is anticipated to enhance rendering performance by 45% and increase ray tracing capabilities by two to three times compared to the standard PS5.

Sources suggest Sony will use AMD components and has prepared an improved, partially customized 'Trinity' SoC with a more powerful GPU. The console is expected to feature faster 20 GB GDDR6 memory, supporting enhanced performance and potentially up to 8K resolution.

Furthermore, the PS5 Pro is rumored to incorporate artificial intelligence technology based on machine learning, known as PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), an advancement of Sony's Multi-Frame Super Resolution (MSFR) technology. PSSR aims to process data in ultra-high resolutions, enhancing the visual experience to support up to 8K resolution, signifying a substantial upgrade in gameplay and graphics from the current generation.
