Reddit User Transforms RTX 3080 with Passive Cooling Using 10 Heatsinks

A Reddit user, known as "Everynametaken9", conducted a unique experiment with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card by installing ten different heatsinks for passive cooling. This approach aimed to achieve maximum heat dissipation without noise. However, despite the originality of the idea, the experiment revealed significant drawbacks.

Firstly, due to the bulkiness of the construction, mounting it on a motherboard became impossible without risking damage. Secondly, there were issues with the effectiveness of heat dissipation due to the heatsinks not fitting snugly onto the copper base. Therefore, despite the creative approach, the practical aspect of this modification leaves much to be desired. Users and experts note that such experiments are interesting but are hardly applicable in typical graphics card usage scenarios.
