These sources reveal that the new console will be equipped with 30 Workgroup Processors (WGP) and memory with a throughput of 18,000 MT/s. The console is expected to offer improved and more stable frame rates at 4K resolution, a new performance mode for 8K, and accelerated ray tracing.

The Trinity began production in early 2022, and Sony has been actively showcasing the new console to developers. It is expected that the majority of studios will receive development kits by the end of November this year.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is slated to launch in November 2024 and join the expanded PlayStation device lineup. The lineup will also include the remote game launch portable system Project Q and a new version of the base PlayStation 5 with a detachable drive. The latter is expected to be released this September, replacing the current console model available in versions with and without a drive.
