Apex Storage Unveils X16 AIC Offering Up to 16 NVMe Gen 4 SSD Slots in a Single Slot
Apex Storage has made exciting plans to roll out a Gen 5 AIC, but it won't happen until the end of 2024 at the earliest. Increased heat generation from the new SSDs will mean the Gen 5 AIC design will require substantial cooling.
In the meantime, Apex Storage has already debuted its latest X16 AIC. Priced at $1799.99, the device offers up to 16 slots for NVMe Gen 4 SSDs in a single-slot format. It supports up to 128TB of capacity per card and delivers Read/Write speeds of 31GB/s. Unlike its predecessor, the X21 AIC, it's equipped with an active cooling system.
The X21 AIC was introduced by Apex Storage earlier this year. The dual-PCB card offers up to 21 slots for NVMe Gen 4 SSDs, supports up to 100 PCIe lanes, and up to 168TB of capacity per card. It retails for $2799.99. The company also offers volume discounts.
All of this makes Apex Storage's products incredibly attractive to enthusiasts in need of vast amounts of speedy storage.
