ASUS and ASRock have announced new BIOS updates for their 600 and 700 series motherboards to support next generation Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors. Previously, support for these processors was provided by Gigabyte. Now other manufacturers are joining them to ensure compatibility with upcoming 14th generation Intel processors.

ASRock, including the B760M PG Sonic WIFI model, and ASUS, which has released the initial BIOS for the ROG Maximus Z790 APEX motherboard, have updated their BIOS to support next-generation Intel processors. While no direct mention is made of the Raptor Lake Refresh family, there is ample evidence of its existence and an upcoming release in September and October. BIOS versions such as 5.04 from ASRock and 1203 from ASUS provide support for future processors and system stability.

14th Gen Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors will be introduced to the desktop lineup and will use existing 14th Gen naming conventions. They will be available with both unlocked K chips and regular ones, but with some time difference. This generation will be an intermediate solution using LGA 1700/1800 sockets before moving to the new LGA 1851 socket.

Motherboard manufacturers such as ASUS and ASRock have chosen to use existing motherboard series such as the 600 and 700 series to ensure compatibility with Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors. This way, users will be able to use their existing boards without having to upgrade to the new 800 series. Some 700 series motherboards will offer improved power and I/O to meet the needs of users who are still using older 400 or 500 series motherboards.

BIOS update for ASUS and ASRock 600/700 series motherboards can support the next generation of Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors and ensure their stable operation.

Exact release dates for Intel Raptor Lake Refresh processors and BIOS updates have not yet been announced, but are expected to become available in the near future.
