Noctua releases NM-DD1 Direct Die Kit to enhance cooling for AMD Ryzen AM5 processors
Famous CPU cooling and overclocking expert Roman "der8auer" Hartung, together with Noctua, presented a unique NM-DD1 kit for direct contact with the processor chip. It is intended for AMD Ryzen AM5 processors that have had their heat spreader removed (a process known as "delidding").
The NM-DD1 kit features spacers under the heatsink bracket to bridge the space between the remote heat spreader and the CPU cooler. This improves heat dissipation between the chips on the processor and the heatsink, which leads to a significant decrease in temperatures. This is especially important when actively overclocking the processor, when high temperatures can become an obstacle.
This product highlights the importance of thermal management in today's processors, especially under extreme overclocking. This solution confirms Noctua's leading position in CPU cooling and their willingness to adapt to new cooling trends.
