In our new review, we will review and test the AMD Ryzen 5 8600G and AMD Ryzen 7 8700G processors in modern games. We will look at their key characteristics and compare them with other modern processors with integrated graphics and budget discrete memory.
STORY |
The history of integrated graphics in AMD CPUs began with the first generation of APUs, known as "Llano", introduced in 2011. These processors combined K10 cores and Radeon HD 6000 series graphics on a single chip, offering an integrated solution to handle both compute and graphics workloads. Llano's successor was the "Trinity" and "Richland" APUs, which already used improved Piledriver cores and Radeon HD 7000 series graphics, providing better performance and energy efficiency.
With the development of technologies and architectures, AMD introduced "Kaveri" - APUs based on the Steamroller architecture. These processors brought even greater integration between the CPU and GPU, as well as support for Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA), allowing the CPU and GPU to communicate more effectively with each other.
The transition to the Zen architecture opened a new chapter in the history of AMD APUs. Starting with the Ryzen 5 2500U, processors began to combine Zen cores and Vega graphics, significantly increasing performance in both compute and graphics. The Raven Ridge, Picasso, and Renoir series continued this trend, each bringing improvements in performance, power efficiency, and graphics capabilities.
