It took CD Projekt and NVIDIA almost 3 months to enable DLSS3 in Cyberpunk 2077. The game has finally received a patch that includes upscaling technology.

A new 6GB update has just been released for supported PC platforms and gamers can now enable DLSS3 if they are using an RTX 4090, 4080 or 4070 Ti GPU. However, the introduction of technology into the game took much longer than expected.

DLSS3 uses frame generation technology that is only supported by the NVIDIA Ada architecture, and many reviewers of the RTX 4090 used the preview game to showcase the benefits of DLSS3 in such a demanding game.

NVIDIA recently announced DLSS3 support for 6 new games that will be updated over the next few weeks. These games include Dying Light 2 Stay Human, HITMAN 3, Dakar Desert Rally, Deliver Us Mars, Marvel's Midnight Suns and PERISH. In addition, DLSS3 will also be added to Atomic Heart, ILL SPACE, THRONE AND LIBERTY, The Day Before, Tower of Fantasy, Warhaven and Witchfire.

NVIDIA currently confirms that DLSS3 is supported in 50 games and applications, and DLSS2 is supported in over 250 games. However, the inclusion of DLSS3 in games has been slower than expected, and Cyberpunk 2077 is a good example of how difficult it can be.

In 2023, Xbox, Sony and Nintendo will not be attending E3. This came to light from several sources within these companies. Reddit user xCuri0 reported that the architecture of AMD Polaris graphics cards is incompatible with Forspoken due to the need to use a higher version of API functions. Despite the DirectX12 support that this architecture has, Forspoken requires the use of a higher feature layer.

In DirectX12, almost all graphics cards support the base specification, however, some features and new technologies are hidden behind feature levels. The top level is Ultimate (12_2) which is compatible with Turing, RDNA2 and Xe-HPG architectures.

In turn, some older graphics cards, such as the Radeon RX 400 (GCN4) series, only support DirectX12 at feature level 12_0. The GCN5 (Vega) architecture and NVIDIA Maxwell support a higher level of features, but only on newer GPUs, making GM107/GM108 incompatible.

The AMD Polaris architecture was used in graphics cards such as the Radeon RX 480 (2016), Radeon RX 580 (2017) and Radeon RX 590 (2018) equipped with Polaris 10, Polaris 20 and Polaris 30 GPUs respectively.

However, it is worth noting that games with even higher feature levels (12_2), such as Metro Exodus Enhanced, also require appropriate hardware support. Therefore, using AMD Polaris GPUs to play such demanding games can be difficult.

Discord has reportedly implemented streaming support for the AV1 video codec, allowing streaming up to 4K 60 FPS at 8 Mbps. DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) is an essential tool for any GPU enthusiast. It allows you to completely remove all data related to display drivers, including files, folders, and registry data. This software supports AMD, Intel and NVIDIA GPUs and can also uninstall audio drivers. DDU runs on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and 11 platforms.
