There is information about a possible version of God of War Ragnarok for PC. Digital Foundry has published an exclusive review of the GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition, NVIDIA's new flagship GPU based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. One of the main elements of the review was the analysis of NVIDIA DLSS3 technology, which allows you to add frames generated by artificial intelligence and increase game performance up to 5 times. However, visible artifacts may appear when using this technology.

Digital Foundry had access to Cyberpunk 2077 (Overdrive RT edition), Spider-Man Remastered, and Portal RTX, all three of which support DLSS 3.0. Support for the technology is not currently available to the general public, but Digital Foundry has demonstrated it in action with some side-by-side comparison with DLSS2 frames. Depending on the game, CPU limitations, and whether motion capture was performed, games can expect 2x to 5x better performance with DLSS3.

DLSS3 generates complete frames based on game data such as motion vectors and optical flow analysis. However, frame buffering can cause additional latency, which can be reduced with NVIDIA Reflex technology, which is now part of DLSS3. However, results may vary depending on the game and screen resolution.

While the Digital Foundry review gave us a glimpse into the performance of NVIDIA's new GPU and DLSS3 technology, a deeper dive into the technology is expected once the review embargo is lifted. What happens when you compare three rendering technologies - native, DLSS and XeSS? How do they work with different GPUs? What are the advantages and disadvantages of XeSS?

These questions were asked by PCGamer and Tom's Hardware editors who tested XeSS on a variety of graphics cards, including the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, AMD RX Vega, and Navi 10. The results were pretty interesting.

As it turned out, XeSS works with all tested GPUs, but does not always give a significant performance boost. In some cases, it even runs slower, which is explained by the fact that DP4a instructions are not natively supported by all GPUs and are emulated using 24-bit integers.

It's also possible that the 6 GB VRAM bottleneck could also affect performance. But despite these problems, XeSS still promises to be a good alternative to DLSS.

Of course, these are only the early days of XeSS and there is still a lot to be improved and optimized. Intel, which has launched its Arc GPUs, can prioritize its Arc XMX algorithm to improve performance and image quality.

It's important to note that there is one API and SDK, so development should continue for both NVIDIA and Intel GPUs. We expect more tests and reviews soon to get a better idea of ​​XeSS and its capabilities.

The upcoming sequel to the acclaimed real-time strategy series, Men of War II, which has been eagerly awaited by many fans of the genre, will be released in 2023. Fulqrum Publishing and Best Way have made this difficult joint decision to bring new content and improvements to the game that have been requested by fans of the series during the series of closed beta tests, as well as in connection with recent world events.

Initially, the Ukrainian studio Best Way was based in Severodonetsk, but after certain events, it was forced to help its employees and their families urgently move to other places, so the overall development was suspended indefinitely. Despite this, after some time, the Best Way team still managed to return to development with enthusiasm and even conduct a whole series of closed beta tests, which once again proved that the franchise is moving in the right direction, but a full-fledged continuation needs a little more time. to polish and introduce new content that the huge community of fans of the series so much wanted to see.

This extra time will allow the Best Way team to add a lot of new content to Men of War II, including a separate campaign for the Third Reich and new missions for other factions, as well as improve gameplay, dynamic campaigns, user interface and much more. During the opening ceremony of gamescom 2022, the developers of Sonic Frontiers from Sonic Team presented the game's story trailer. Also in the video announced the release date of the title.

Publisher Nexon and developer Nexon Games have unveiled a full trailer for shareware co-op third-person shooter The First Descendant.

The events of the game will unfold in the future, where the Earth survived the attack of aliens. The focus is on a special squad of fighters, nicknamed the "Descendants", who have supernatural powers. Together (The First Descendant is a co-op shooter) they battle hordes of enemies, loot and take on powerful bosses.

The First Descendant will release on PC on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The beta test of the PC version will be held from October 20 to October 26, the game has no release date yet.

CI Games has released The Lords of the Fallen, a dark fantasy action game. The premiere trailer was shown as part of the gamescom exhibition.

The title will be a reboot of the series, not a direct sequel. The video shows a warrior fighting various monsters like animated skeletons and dragons.
