Radeon HD 3450
The Radeon HD 3450 replaced the Radeon HD 2400 Pro graphics cards. The main innovations of the Radeon HD 34xx graphics cards are related to the new RV620 chip, which is more economical due to the use of the 55 nm process technology and supports DirectX 10.1 API and DisplayPort interface. The novelties, as well as the video adapters they replaced, are positioned by the manufacturer as the most profitable solutions for HD video connoisseurs, while not depriving the user of the opportunity to enjoy gaming applications from time to time.
With an audio controller built into the 3D chip, AMD Radeon HD 3450 cards support direct 5.1 channel audio in Dolby Digital and DTS over HDMI, which AMD recommends. Secondly, the built-in UVD decoder provides hardware support for a full cycle of video decompression in MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264 and VC-1 formats without loading the processor with this work. And thirdly, these video cards have a low-profile design, which will not create inconvenience when installing the board in a cramped HTPC (Home Theater Personal Computer) case. In addition, due to the low operating temperature of the graphics chip, this card can be equipped with a passive cooling system, although the developers themselves recommend using an active cooler for this purpose.
