Plot and characters

Portal: Prelude RTX immerses players in a familiar yet significantly updated environment. Players will become Abby, the newest test associate in Aperture Science. Players are invited to go through nineteen difficult tests, where they can test their skills and abilities in the game Portal. As the story progresses, players will encounter a number of familiar characters and situations, including an encounter with GLaDOS, a sinister AI that later became the main antagonist of the original game.

However, despite the familiar elements, Portal: Prelude RTX is not a simple copy of the original. All characters in the game are now fully voiced, bringing new depth to interactions and dialogue. Moreover, players will learn about the origin of GLaDOS and Aperture Science, which will add new notes of intrigue and fascination to what is happening.

Graphics and technology

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality by MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how video cards from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. Below is a video of the test segment:

Our video cards were tested at resolutions of 1920x1080 , 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 at maximum graphics quality settings. All AMD cards have not been tested, since they have rather deplorable optimization and there is no point in this, and on the RX 7900 video card there are very obvious artifacts in the picture, so most likely, the real result for it will not be the one that turned out in the end ...

Testing of the video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the  MSI Afterburner program. The results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA at resolutions of  1920x1080, 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 with various anti-aliasing settings were taken as the indicator.
