The Last of Us Part I v. 1.0.5.0

The anticipated update for the popular game "The Last of Us Part I" is now available to all players. The main focus of this patch is to improve performance, optimize the experience on the Steam Deck platform, and fix various technical issues. It's worth noting that "The Last of Us Part I" has been officially certified for use on Steam Deck.

Downloading and installing this update will start the process of a complete rebuild of shaders, which will undoubtedly have a positive effect on the graphic performance of the game. Serious optimization work has been carried out that improves the performance of the processor and graphics adapter during the entire gameplay. Players will notice an improvement in texture loading and game environments. Shader compilation time has been significantly reduced.

One of the key points of the update is the elimination of a number of issues that cause unwanted game crashes. Players will now experience no issues when changing custom control settings, saving images in Photo Mode in 4K, playing at ultra-high graphics settings with DLSS enabled, and using a high DPI mouse. Issues affecting users with Intel graphics cards have also been fixed.

Additionally, the developers have paid attention to improving the audio: added support for players using third-party audio drivers. One of the most important aspects of the update is the elimination of translation errors that are present in the game, in the menu and when using the text-to-speech function.

In terms of performance display, the accuracy of GPU and CPU HUD readings has been improved. Fixed an issue where game settings would not revert to default if players had dropdown menus open.

Players will be given a new "Very Low" graphics preset. The interaction of the game with the hardware has been noticeably improved: misunderstandings with the user settings of the monitor at the start of the game and problems with the LEDs of Corsair and Logitech devices, which previously turned off at startup, have been fixed.

It is also worth mentioning a number of local fixes for individual levels of the game. For example, in "Suburbs" a crash that could occur during the fight with a sniper was fixed, as well as an issue where the character Sam appeared to be wet during a cut-scene in a dry place.

The update also includes improvements for AMD hardware owners: fixed issues with game crashes during shader build on AMD hardware platform and FPS drop when GPU usage monitor is enabled.

The developers paid special attention to optimizing the game on the Steam Deck platform. Issues with incorrect button alignment and occasional game crashes during loading screens have been fixed. The default effect density level is now set to "Very Low" instead of "Low". In addition, issues have been fixed in the Lakeside Resort, Pittsburgh, and Outskirts levels, where crashes and difficulties with the movement of mobile objects were fixed.

Thus, this update is an important step towards improving the gameplay and overall experience of "The Last of Us Part I". The developers continue to work on optimizations, stability improvements, and bug fixes to provide players with the best gaming experience.

In the test of video cards, the default resolution is 1920x1080, other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any positions of video cards. You can also select any of our test processors from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given video card tests (by default, the most productive solution is selected). The test is carried out on the most productive CPU in this game and is scaled to other processors, taking into account their testing on NVIDIA and AMD video cards.

Testing of the video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the  MSI Afterburner program. The results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA at resolutions of  1920x1080, 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 with various anti-aliasing settings were taken as the indicator. By default, the graph displays the most up-to-date solutions. Other graphics cards are added and removed from the chart at the reader's request.
