Shadow Warrior 3- Graphics Settings Comparison

Shadow Warrior 3 has several graphic settings available so you can tweak the FPS and get a balance of performance and visual quality. Graphic settings are not very extensive, but all modern technologies are (almost) there. For weak video cards, you can use technology from Nvidia - DLSS and AMD - FSR 1.0.

Consider important graphic settings and their impact on the picture.

Smoothing. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". It was not possible to determine exactly what technology Shadow Warrior 3 uses. The parameter helps to successfully get rid of the horrors of "jaggedness" that are located along the edges of various objects. And there are several types of anti-aliasing, but the developers apparently decided to get rid of this headache.

post-processing quality. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". Color correction and refinement of visual effects, as well as shadows. You will feel a noticeable difference on "Low".

Background shading. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". This option helps to create a more realistic environment by simulating ambient light and darkening objects that are visible during gameplay. This is especially true of the surrounding grass, which can be a lot if you set certain parameters.

Shadow quality. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". This setting controls the detail of the shadows. The option is responsible for rendering shadows of various objects. And the higher the resolution is set with the “Shadow Quality” value, the sharper the shadows will be and the more of them will appear on the screen. Therefore, more GPU memory will be required. The best option between quality and performance will be the average value of the option.

Texture quality. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". Changing the parameter affects the clarity of the textures. As the quality of the textures decreases, the surface of the ground loses the sharpness the most. "High" gives a greater load, while showing almost no improvement compared to "Medium". At the same time, "Low" will make the game noticeably bad in terms of graphics. "Medium" settings are best for both visual quality and performance.

The quality of the effects. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". This parameter affects the quality and intensity of effects such as smoke, explosions, shots, dust. In Shadow Warrior, the difference between "Medium" and "High" settings is very hard to notice.

Screen space reflection. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". Light treatment of surfaces with light effects to make them look more natural. Without SSR, metal and concrete will have the same dull finish. In the game, it is not so often possible to find surfaces on which this effect is applied.

Vegetation quality. The parameter has 3 modes - "Low", "Medium", "High". With this graphical parameter, everything is as simple as possible - it is responsible for the amount of grass and the development of the trees around. "Low" quality results in bare fields, while "High" quality results in lush, muddy cartoon textures. Interestingly, even at maximum quality, the grass will be well displayed in full only next to the character.

Shadow Warrior 3 offers AMD FSR 1.0 and Nvidia DLSS version 2.2.11.0. Both that, and another can be included in the graphic menu.

DLSS. The implementation of DLSS is amazing. "Quality" provides a noticeable performance boost, and the picture does not differ from the source. In addition, DLSS in Shadow Warrior 3 has no blurring issues, and ghosting is very rare. Shadow Warrior 3 has a DLSS sharpness setting that gamers can use to customize the picture. Below you can find some comparison screenshots.

FSR. AMD FSR is not as good as NVIDIA DLSS, but it's a great alternative. Using FSR with "Ultra Quality" will result in a loss of image clarity compared to the original resolution. But still, most objects are still well smoothed with FSR, but there is noticeably more flicker than with the original resolution.

So let's summarize. Shadow Warrior 3 is perfect for those who want to shoot without fuss, without bothering with the plot.

Graphically, Flying Wild Hog does not offer any innovation. Shadow Warrior 3 looks bright and catchy. All the characters are detailed and the dismemberment system is incredible. However, there are some graphical flaws. The graphics sometimes feel even worse than in the first part - this is not the level of the past, but the generation before last. There are plenty of bugs too. Either a seemingly correctly executed jump does not reach the goal, or Lo Wang falls into the textures.

Overall, Shadow Warrior 3 can run at over 60fps on a wide variety of PC systems. The game does not require a high performance processor, and the DLSS and FSR implementations are exceptionally good.
