Gamers Urge Early Release of Official Spider-Man 2 PC Port

Unofficial development of a PC port for Spider-Man 2 is progressing rapidly, according to reports. With each passing day, it increasingly resembles a full-fledged game on PlayStation 5 — the basic gameplay is already functional, but the virtual world currently lacks the necessary textures and graphical effects.

Online calls are urging Sony and Insomniac Games to take note of the situation and consider releasing the official PC port earlier than planned. Otherwise, many PC gamers may opt for the unofficial version if it reaches an acceptable state, potentially leaving developers without a portion of their revenue.

According to leaks, the official PC version of Spider-Man 2 was originally slated for a 2025 release. Currently, the game is exclusively available on PlayStation 5.

Recall that an incomplete PC build of Spider-Man 2 was stolen by hackers and leaked online, along with other working materials for past and future Insomniac Games titles, in December 2023. Leveraging reverse engineering, enthusiasts managed to launch an early version of the game and began supplementing it with missing elements.
