Microsoft Releases S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy for Consoles, PC Gamers Left Out

During the Xbox Partner Preview event, Microsoft announced the release of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone trilogy. This new collection is available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One platforms for $40, or each game can be purchased separately for $20. The set includes three games: "Shadow of Chernobyl," "Clear Sky," and "Call of Pripyat."

The adaptation for consoles was carried out by GSC Game World in collaboration with Mataboo. The focus was primarily on comfortable controls and adapting the interface for console controllers, notably adding a weapon selection wheel.

The company has announced that a special update for Xbox Series X|S will be released later, bringing graphical enhancements and other innovations, as well as mod support.

Zakhar Bocharov from GSC Game World shared that the development priority was to create a comfortable gameplay experience for the console audience, aiming to attract new fans to the series.

However, despite the broad announcement and updates for console players, the new trilogy has not been made available to the PC gaming community, causing disappointment among fans of the original series on personal computers.
