NetEase Games Unveils Marvel Rivals: A New Battleground for Heroes and Villains

NetEase Games has announced Marvel Rivals, a new third-person team PvP shooter that brings together renowned Marvel characters. The game is being developed by an international team, including former developers of Call of Duty and Battlefield series.

In Marvel Rivals, players engage in 6v6 battles, aligning with either the heroes or villains from the Marvel universe, featuring Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and X-Men. The character roster ranges from Black Panther to Iron Man and Loki.

A key feature of the game is the ability to combine powers for enhanced attacks. For instance, Rocket can team up with Groot for a formidable duo, while Hulk can empower Iron Man with gamma energy. Confirmed locations include Asgard and Tokyo 2099, with destructible environments for strategic advantage.

Marvel Rivals will adopt a free-to-play model, supported by regular updates with new characters, maps, and more. Closed alpha testing is set to begin in May, although the official release date is yet to be announced.
