Rapid Surge: Steam Game Prices Nearing One Million Dollars

Analysts tracking prices on Valve's gaming platform predict that the total cost of all games on Steam will soon exceed one million dollars. As of January 3, the total cost of available projects surpasses $974,800, or $658,900 with discounts.

The past year proved to be a record-breaker for Steam. In 2023, the platform saw the release of 14,533 games, surpassing the total for the period from 2006 to 2016. However, there are discrepancies in the data, with SteamSpy claiming 12,329 games were released, still 1,815 more than in 2022.

Throughout 2023, the overall cost of games on the platform increased by approximately $145,000. It's worth noting that outdated projects may be removed from Valve's marketplace, impacting the total value of games.
