In a fresh interview with Gunfire Games' Design Director John Pearl and Principal Designer Ben Cureton, new details have emerged regarding the technical side of the Remnant II game. The game launches on July 25th, but for owners of the Ultimate Edition early access starts a few days earlier.

Performance Options for Consoles

When it came to performance on the current consoles, John Pearl shared that the developers wanted to provide players with options. The game has a quality mode, a performance mode, and a balanced mode.

Upscaling Technologies Support

Remnant II supports upscaling technologies Nvidia DLSS 2, Intel XeSS, and AMD FSR.

No Ray Tracing Support

The game does not currently support ray tracing. But, as John Pearl noted, nothing is ever off the table, though it's not currently planned in the near future.

Nanite Support, But No Lumen

The game uses Nanite from Unreal Engine 5, but currently does not support Lumen. However, this may be something to consider in the future.

Focus on the New Generation of Consoles

Focusing on the current generation of consoles has allowed the developers to move over to Unreal Engine 5 and take advantage of some of its perks. It has also allowed them to add more fidelity to all of the game's assets, in terms of poly count and texture resolution, making the game a significant visual step up from the original.
