Starfield could embrace DLSS despite AMD partnership!

DLSS modder, PureDark, recently promised a swift release of a DLSS mod for Starfield post-launch. This reveals just how straightforward it is to incorporate DLSS into games already supporting AMD's FSR2.

Suspicion arose around AMD potentially hindering DLSS when enthusiasts and media pointed out the scant number of AMD-partnered games that accommodate both FSR2 and DLSS. Especially dubious was the DLSS and ray tracing removal from Boundary after its developer, Skystone Games, entered an alliance with AMD.

However, AMD has dispelled such rumors. In a chat with The Verge, AMD's Chief Gaming Architect, Frank Azor, ascertained that the company isn't inhibiting Starfield from leveraging Nvidia's DLSS. Should Bethesda opt to assimilate DLSS down the line, AMD would fully back the move.

It's pertinent to distinguish between FSR and FSR2. While FSR2, DLSS, and XeSS have analogous underpinnings, games solely backing FSR would demand extra legwork to sustain DLSS and FSR2.
