According to new information from the FTC lawsuit against Microsoft, The Elder Scrolls VI may be released in 2026

News about The Elder Scrolls VI keeps coming, this time from the FTC's lawsuit against Microsoft. The sixth game in the series is slated for release in 2026, according to Microsoft's attorney. This seems a little unrealistic, given that it was previously said that the game is still at least five years away from release.

Bethesda is still working on Starfield, which will release in a little over two months, so development on The Elder Scrolls VI is hardly in full swing. It will be interesting to know if Microsoft really expects the game to come out in three years, or if the release date goal was put forward for some unknown reason.

However, rumors about the release period of 2025-2026 appeared last year, so there may be some truth in the statement of Microsoft's lawyer.

The development of epic open-world RPGs is taking more and more time, and support for released titles is getting longer. So, Todd Howard said earlier this month that The Elder Scrolls VI will probably be his last game. Howard has been with Bethesda since 1994 and his departure will no doubt lead to changes in the company's future games.
