"The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie" launches in the West with high ratings after a successful release in Japan

After a more than successful release in Japan nearly three years ago, Nihon Falcom's JRPG "The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie" is finally available in the West. Publisher NIS America greeted the game's launch with a trailer presentation. The project is distributed on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The game received critical acclaim with an average rating of 84% on PS5 after 14 reviews and 95% on Steam after 87 reviews. In terms of gameplay, "Trails into Reverie" does not make any drastic changes, keeping the tradition of classic JRPGs, but despite this, the game received positive reviews for its new "Trails to Walk" system, which allows players to quickly switch between the main characters and story arcs.

The Legend of Heroes: Trials series has sold 7 million copies in total, and Trails into Reverie is expected to increase that number significantly. "Trails into Reverie" is a spin-off from the main series and takes place after the events of "The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV - The End of Saga".

Nihon Falcom President Toshihiro Kondo stressed in a recent interview that the success of the series outside of Japan came as a surprise to him, and acknowledged that this circumstance was a great motivation for his team.
