Gap Narrows: Loongson 3A6000 Review Showcases Superiority Over Intel 10th Gen and AMD Zen 2

The recent review of China's domestically produced Loongson 3A6000 CPU has shed light on its notable performance gains, standing out against the Intel 10th Generation and AMD Zen 2 architectures. This development marks a significant stride in China's indigenous chip production. Upon testing, the Loongson 3A6000 displayed an improved Instructions Per Cycle (IPC) metric, showcasing a substantial advancement from its predecessor, the 3A5000.

The PC powered by the new Loongson 3A6000 CPU, tailored for the Chinese domestic market, encompasses a motherboard, power supply unit, two 8 GB DDR4-3200 memory modules, a 256 GB SSD, and an AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card. Despite lower clock speeds compared to its rivals, the Loongson 3A6000 competently contended with the Intel Core i3-10100 and AMD Ryzen 3 3100 in the SPEC CPU benchmarks, also exhibiting a 72% and 40% performance increase in multi-core and single-core UnixBench tests respectively.
