Micron Unveils Future of NVIDIA GPU Memory with GDDR7 and GDDR7+ Roadmap

Micron, a leading memory manufacturer, has published its latest roadmap, heralding significant advancements in the future of memory for NVIDIA's graphics cards. The roadmap introduces new GDDR7 and GDDR7+ technologies, designed for NVIDIA's next-gen GPUs.

Micron DRAM Roadmap

Slated for release in mid-2024, GDDR7 will be available in 16Gb and 24Gb modules, promising a substantial boost in bandwidth - up to 32 Gbps, enabling up to 128 GB/s bandwidth per module. GDDR7+, scheduled for the first half of 2026, will further enhance these capabilities, offering speeds up to 36 Gbps.

Micron also plans to release an upgraded version of GDDR7 with 32Gb modules, increasing VRAM capacity up to 4 GB per module. This presents exciting prospects for future NVIDIA GPUs, which currently incorporate Micron's GDDR solutions in their existing lineups.

Additionally, the roadmap includes plans for HBM4 memory development by 2025 and 2027, potentially impacting the GPU and server market significantly.
