AMD Prepares New 'F-Series' Ryzen 5 7500F Desktop Processor - Korean Retailer Confirms No Integrated GPU and Pricing Under $200

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is reportedly planning to introduce a new desktop CPU, the Ryzen 5 7500F. The addition of the "F" suffix is an unusual move for AMD, hinting at the lack of integrated graphics - a characteristic familiar to Intel users.

The upcoming Ryzen 5 7500F will feature 6 cores and 12 threads, with a clock speed of 5.0 GHz, a hundred MHz less than the Ryzen 5 7600. A Korean retailer has confirmed that the processor indeed does not pack an integrated GPU.

The Ryzen 5 7500F adds an interesting element to AMD's lineup, suggesting a broader range of options. Positioned beneath the Ryzen 5 7600, the Ryzen 5 7500F is expected to hit the market with a price tag under $200.

Currently, the Ryzen 5 7600 retails for around $220-$230, and the new Ryzen 5 7500F will enable AMD to compete with Intel's Core i5-13400 and Core i5-13500 CPUs in the sub-$200 market segment.

AMD's recent launch, the Ryzen 5 5600X3D, also falls close to the $200 mark but is exclusive to the US and only available through Microcenter. If priced correctly, the Ryzen 5 7500F could gain considerable popularity, and there's also a potential for a Starfield bundle with the chip.

Further details are anticipated with the official announcement from AMD.
