Counter-Strike 2: Innovations and First Major Update - Improvements and Features for Gamers

In the universe of Counter-Strike 2 sound good news for fans of the shooter. Gamer advocates around the world have won: Players can now choose to forfeit purchased weapons and gear during the build-up phase, opting for a different arsenal instead. This major gameplay update was introduced with the first major update for the shooter.

Now gamers are given the opportunity to pre-select weapons available for combat. Up to fifteen models of firearms can be added to the arsenal, including a starting pistol, four additional pistols, five types of medium-range weapons and the same number of rifles. Game analysts suggest that the introduction of a limited number of weapon slots will be an impetus for Valve to expand the range of weapons in CS2.

Key highlights of the update include:

• Instead of the usual weapon selection wheel, the developers introduced new tables. Apparently, the concept of exchanging weapons before the start of the match was borrowed from Valorant.
• Valve has developed special tools for creating weapon skins, stickers and maps for CS2, available for download right inside the game. However, it is worth noting that the Steam Workshop does not currently support CS2 maps.
• Special markers have appeared in the buy menu that display the choice of equipment of teammates.
• The precise behavior of subticks has been improved, and issues with floating movements have been fixed.
• We got rid of errors in the transmission of the signal to stop pressing the keys.
• The lighting and visualization system has been improved, especially with numerous overlaps of light areas with smoke. Shotgun blasts into smoke now leave more visible holes.
• Improved game performance and responsiveness when running in windowed mode, as well as when running borderless.
• The Dust II map on the official servers has been replaced with the Mirage map.

Despite the fact that Counter-Strike 2 is in the closed testing stage, updates, as we see, continue. A full-fledged solemn presentation of the shooter is promised to be carried out in the summer of 2023.
